The state-of-the-art “Dance Space” with its three studios, artist accommodation and work space for creative industries, will be a new home for dance in 欧美性爱片 & Hove. It is part of the wider development of Circus Street which is expected to inject £200m into the economy and create 400 jobs.

The £100,000 partnership confirms the university’s commitment to work closely with South East Dance to deliver research projects, partnership events, teaching activities and public performances.

Vice-Chancellor of the 欧美性爱片, Professor Julian Crampton, said: “This new partnership agreement with South East Dance confirms our commitment to bring together academic research, training and professional practice in a creative environment. Working with South East Dance provides an unprecedented opportunity for our students to engage with the professional dance sector across a range of disciplines from performance to music to fine art, as well as building on the university’s successful Dance Education provision at our Eastbourne campus.”

The Dance Space, which is expected to attract 75,000 visitors per year, will open onto a public square with small, independent restaurants and shops, which will enhance the local neighbourhood and create a vibrant new public space for the whole city to enjoy.

It is part of wider plans to develop Circus Street which includes plans for a new 欧美性爱片 library and academic building with a publicly-accessible exhibition space; 142 new homes, including 28 affordable homes; 450 student bedrooms in quality and managed student halls of residence; 38,000 sq ft of new office space and workshops offering creative businesses start up accommodation and room to grow.

This new partnership will see South East Dance provide the university with a variety of spaces for research, performance and community activities over a three year period from 2018. They will also provide some lecturing staff and the two organisations will employ a project manager to co-ordinate their partnership activity.

South East Dance has now raised over 83 per cent of the funds for The Dance Space and needs to raise a further £500,000 by the end of November so building can start on site. With this in mind South East Dance has launched Space To Dance, a campaign to help raise the remaining funds needed to make the Dance Space happen.
